F.W. REISINGER ANSWERS LAST CALL FRIDAY MORNING, FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY
F.W. Reisinger died at his home in this city at two o'clock Friday morning. For several weeks his death was expected at any hour, and the family was prepared for the end when it came. Mr Reisinger had suffered a number of strokes of paralysis during the past five years. He recovered from each stroke and though it incapacitated him physically, he kept on with his wprk until a short time before the end came. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Dilman Smith were held at the home Sunday afternoon and they were largly attended. Interment was made in Clark's Cemetery. The following obituary was read at the service:
"Frank Wesley Reisinger was born in Cascade, IA on September 21, 1869 and departed this life at Grundy Center, IA May 15, 1914 aged 44 years, 7 months and 24 days.
On September 27th, 1909, he was united in marriage with Ada May Clark of Grundy Center, who with the daughter, Marlys, aged 7 years and two brothers, Glenn of Easterville and Harry of Winnipeg, Canada, survive to mourn his loss.
In early childhood he took up his residence near LaPorte, IA, and there he grew to manhood. He graduated from high school at LaPortein 1887, and after teaching in the public school for a year entered Cornell College in the fall of 1888 from which institution he graduated in 1893. During his college he decided upon law as a profession, and upon graduation entered the law school of North Western University, from which he graduated in 1895. In the same year he came to Grundy Center and established himself in his profession. In 1900 he was elected County Attorney of Grundy County and was reelected in 1902 and 1904. He was elected mayor of Grundy Center, retiring from office in March of the present year. In early life he united with the Presbyterian Church of LaPorte and later joined himself to the Methodist Epicopal Church at Grundy Center. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge and help practically every position of honor within the local lodge.
Wesley Reisinger was a man of spendid intellectual attainment. He gained high honor in scholarship durng his college courses and represented the college in oratorical and forensic combats. He possessed an exceptionally keen analytical mind and was a tireless worker and uncompromising in his stand for principle and business integrity. He possessed high personal and professional ideals, and his success as a lawyer was the embodiment of these ideals. No higher tribute can be paid him as a layer, and as a man than the words of a former law pardner who says:
"Wesley was always on the square. He always advocated settlement where settlement could be made without sacrifice of principle. His consistent effort with his clients was to avoid litigation, and to convince them to settle on the basis of what was right, as between man and man rather than on the basis of what the technicalities of the law might dictate. In his dealings with men he was actuated by the desire to serve their interests, rather than by any motive of professional gain.
The following relatives and friends from out of town were present at the funeral. Mr. Glenn Reisinger of Estherville, IA, Mrs. W.H.H. Clark of Spencer, IA, Mrs. F. Bronson of Algona, IA, Prof. Y.F. Stout of Mt. Vernon, IA, Attorney J. Porter from Webster City, IA, Mrs. M.L. Newton from Waterloo, IA, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Steppy of Waterloo, and Mr., and Mrs. Chas Wilson, Waterloo, IA.
