VIOLA S. DEPPMEIER

  HAVRE - Viola (Stoltz) Deppmeier, 72, died of cancer Tuesday at a Havre hospital.

  Her funeral is 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Havre, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Havre Hill County Library Foundation.

  She was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Havre, and attended county schools north of Havre.

  In 1944 she married Edwin C. Deppmeier in Great Falls. They lived in North Havre, where she was a cook for the Havre Public Schools and Northern Montana Hospital. She later worked as a custodian for the public schools until retiring in 1987.

  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and spending time at the family cabin in the Bear Paw Mountains.

  Survivors include her husband of Havre; a son, Leonard Deppmeier of Havre; five daughters, Louise Smith of Bowling Green, Ky., Patti Ingram of Rochester, Minn., Mary Teal of Billings, Doris Rutlege of Tacoma, Wash., and Carol McFarland of Modesto, Calif.; a brother Henry Stultz of Great Falls; a sister, Elizabeth Solnicka of Richland, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren.

  A daughter, Edna Jean Deppmeier,and a son, Edwin Deppmeier Jr., have died.

VIOLA  DEPPMEIER

  Viola S. Deppmeier, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998,  at a Havre hospital of cancer.

  Deppmeier was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Havre to Fred and Emma (Oldhauser) Stoltz. As a young child she lived in Loredo. She was educated at Meadowlark Country School north of Havre.

  She married Edwin C. Deppmeier 54 years ago in Great Falls.

  She workd as a cook at the Havre Public Schools, then later at Northern Montana Hospital. Later she was a custodian for the Havre Public Schools,  retiring in 1987.

  Deppmeier enjoyed spending time at the Bear Paw Mountains at the cabin,  gardening, fishing and visiting with family and friends, and especially cooking.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; one brother; one daughter, Edna Jean Deppmeier,and one son, Edwin Deppmeier Jr.

  Survivors include her husband Edwin C. Deppmeier; one son, Leonard Deppmeier of Havre; five daughters, Louise Smith of Bowling Green, Ky., Patti Ingram of Rochester, Minn., Mary Teal of Billings, Doris Rutlege of Tacoma, Wash., and Carol McFarland of Modesto, Calif.; one brother Henry Stoltz of Great Falls; one sister, Elizabeth Solnicka of Richland, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
