VERNON J. SOHM
KREMLIN - Vernon J. Sohm, 66, Kremlin, died Tuesday at a Havre Hospital
of
natural causes.
A rosary is scheduled Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Holland & Bonine
Funeral Home
Chapel with Father Jack Harrington
officiating.
A funeral Mass id scheduled Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Jude's Catholic
Church
in Havre with Father Harrington
officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Mr. Sohm was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Danbury, Iowa, to Frank and Lenora
(Dirkx)
Sohm. When he was four years old the
family moved to Kremlin and he graduated
from Kremlin High School in 1941. He
was a veteran of World War II and served
with the U.S. Army. He recieved the
Purple Heart for wounds he recieved in
action.
In September 1947 he married JoAnn Gussenhoven in Havre and after their
marriage the couple farmed southeast
of Kremlin. He was a member of the D.A.V.,
V.F.W., Eagles Club, Knights of
Columbus and St. Jude's Catholic Church, all of
Havre.
Survivors include his wife of Kremlin; his step-mother, Clara Sohm of
Havre;
sons, Michael Sohm of Pensacola,
Fla., and David Sohm and Paul Solm, both of
Kremlin; daughters, Patricia Felt of
Salt Lake City and Jana Sokm of Hillsboro,
Ore.; a sister, Bonnie Barkmeier of
Lake City, Fla.; brothers, Clair sohm of
Big Sandy, Leon Sohm of Danbury,
Iowa and Eugene Sohm and Duane Sohm, both of
Havre; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Catholic Church or Fort Benton
Agricultural Museum.
Holland & Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

HAVRE - A rosary for Vernon Joseph Sohm, 66, was held Friday evening at
Holland & Bonine Chapel with
Father J. Patrick Stewart officiating.
A funeral Mass was held Saturday morning at St. Jude's Catholic Church
in
Havre with Father Jack Harrington
officiating.
Soloist Debbie Leeds sang "Here I Am Lord", "Ava
Maria", "How Great Thou Art"
and "Just A Closer Walk With
Thee."
The organist was Bill Lisenby.
The eulogy was given by Jana Sohm, daughter of Mr. Sohm.
The cantor was Regina Gabriel.
The alter servers were Justin Keller, Eric Nemeth and Cathy Nemeth.
Pallbearers were Robert Rinehart, Vernon Berg, Norman Reynolds, Roland
Gould,
Herman Freier and Laurence Ophus.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery Veterans section where the Veterans
Honor
Guard conducted military graveside
honors. Members of the honor guard and rifle
squad were Fay McDonald, Larry
Weise, Vern Holman, John Simko, Harold Castile,
Sandy McLean, Leonard Thackeray, Ken
Hannah, Ralph Collier, Richard Wieweck,
Dick Brough, Butch Schock, Marlene
Hannah, John Haas, Mark Whalen, Jingles
Engebretson, Laura Engebretson, Jack
Larson, and Acting Commander Jack Yates.
Memorials may be sent to either St. Jude's Catholic Church or the Fort
Benton
Agricultural Museum.
Holland & Bonine Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
