MATHILDA G. "TILLIE" EVANS

  RUDYARD - Longtime Rudyard resident MathildaG. "Tillie" (Jenniges) Evans, 87, died Saturday of natural causes in a Havre retirement home.

  Vigil in 7 p.m. Thursday in Holland & Bonine Chapel. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Hingham, with burial following in Rudyard Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Liberty County Nursing Home.

  She was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Wanda, Minn., and attended schools there.

  She married Clinton N. Evans in Wanda in 1933.

  They moved to Montana in 1937 and lived in Rudyard for 61 years.

  She worked at K Lanes for 16 years, then later opened the Snack Shack with her daughter. She was a seamstress and a laundress.

  She enjoyed baking pies, reading, working puzzles, sewing, making quilts, and traveling.

  She moved to Havre in 1998 and lived with a daughter until moving to Eagles Manor in June of 1999.

  Survivors include four sons, Mathias "Tiger" Evans and William "Bill" Evans, both of Havre, Clint Evans of Auburn, Wash., and Eugene Evans of Shelby; eight daughters, Mary Ann Riley of Salem, Ore., Glorianne Mangold of Great Falls, Cyrilla Burrows of Chester, Valorie Peterson of East Lansing, Mich., Teresa Bartholomew and Arliss Keller, both of Billings, Anita "Nicky"

Evans of Dubuque, Iowa, and Julie Holt of Havre; two sisters, Anna Evans of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Trudy Struckman of St. Paul, Minn.,; two brothers, Cyril Jenniges of Wanda and Roman Jenniges of Redwood Falls, Minn.; 42 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

  Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild have died.

  MathildaG. "Tillie" Evans, 87, died on Jan. 8, 2000 at Havre retirement home.

  Vigil will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Holland & Bonine Chapel. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Hingham. Burial will follow in the Rudyard Cemetery.

  Evans was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Wanda, N.D. to Mathais M. and Anna Turbes Jenniges. She attended schools in Wanda. In 1933 she married Clinton N. Evans in Wanda.

  They started there family and moved to Montana in 1937. They lived in Rudyard for 61 years.

  Evans worked at K Lanes for 16 years, then opened the Snack Shack with her daughter Gloria. She loved baking, especially great pies. She was a seamstress, and took in mending, washing and ironing.

  She liked reading, putting puzzles together, sewing and making quilts. She likes going on trips and spending time with her family.

  In November 1998, Evans moved to Havre where she lived with her daughter, Julie Holt. In June of 1999 she moved into Eagles Manor.

  Evans was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clint, sister, Marcella, and brothers, Gilbert, Beak, Lux, and Tux, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  She is survived by her sons, Mathias "Tiger" and William  Evans, both of Havre, Clint of Auburn, Wash., and Eugene  of Shelby; daughters, Mary Ann Riley of Salem, Ore., Glorianne Mangold of Great Falls, Cyrilla Burrows of Chester, Valorie Peterson of East Lansing, Mich., Teresa Bartholomew of Billings, Anita "Nicky" of Dubuque, Iowa, Arliss Keller of Billings, and Julie Holt of Havre. She is also survived by sisters, Anna Evans of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Trudy Struckman of St. Paul, Minn.,; and brothers, Cyril Jenniges of Wanda, Minn., and Roman Jenniges of Redwood Falls, Minn.; 42 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

  Memorials in Evans honor may be made to the Liberty County Nursing Home or a donor's choice.

  Arrangements and services are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Homs.
