Floyd "Sarge" Sargent
BILLINGS - Floyd "Sarge" Sargent, 79, died Friday at a local
hospital from
natural causes.
Memorials services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Cremation has taken place.
Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Funeral Home is
handling arrangements. Memorials are
suggested to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Sargent was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Chinook. In 1941 he married Ella
Obie.
After returning from the Navy in
1945, he learned welding and managed his own
welding and blacksmith bussiness in
Chinook until 1965. He worked in
construction until retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran
Church, the Veterans of Foreign
Wars, and Sons of Norway No. 30.
Surviving are his wife of Billings; a daughter, Sharon Wesbrook of
Hillsboro,
N.D.; sons, Greg Sargent of Lake St.
Louis, Mo., and Steve Sargent of Columbia,
Ky.; sisters, Clarice Bell of
Kalispel and Alice Fox of Havre; six
grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

FLOYD "SARGE" SARGENT
BILLINGS - Floyd "Sarge" Sargent, 79, died Friday, March 22,
1996, in
Billings.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Messiah Lutheran Church.
He was born September 27, 1916, in Chinook, the son of Mary MacFarlane
and
Clarence Sargent.
He spent his youth on the Milk River Coal Mine north of Chinook and
married
Ella Obie in 1941.
After returning from the Navy in 1945 he learned the welding trade. He
managed his own welding and
blacksmith business in Chinook ubtil 1965 when he
joined the Pipefitters Union and
worked in construction until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the VFW, and Sons of Norway
local #30.
He is survived by his wife Ella; her daughter Sharon Wesbrook and husband
John of Hillsboro, ND; his son Greg
and wife Marian of Lake St. Louis, MO; his son Steve and wife Lori of Colunbia,
KY; six grandchildren, Todd Wesbrook, Elana Sargent, Tim Wesbrook, Jill Windom,
Dean Sargent, and Heather Logan; two great-grandchildren, Dustin Sargent and
Jamal Windom; and two sisters, Clarice Bell of Kalispell, and Alice Fox of
Havre.
Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or the charity of one's
choice.
