Fergus County Pioneer Dies.

   Mrs. Rosalie Latray, 85, of Chinook, died in a Big Sandy hospital. Funeral services and burial were in Chinook.

   Mrs. Latray was born May 2, 1880, in Lewistown, the daughter of Pete and Delead Lavalley. Mrs.

Latray's father freighted supplies from Fort Benton to Fort Maginnis and many times, she witnessed

battles between Indians and freighters.

   She married John M. Latray in Gilt Edge, Feb 26, 1900. Her husband was a rider for several cattle

companies in the Landusky area and in Fergus county. The couple starting homesteading  in the Bear Paws in 1910. The moved to  Chinook in 1947.

   Survivors include nine sons and daughters,  Edward, Chinook; Patrick, Albert and  Arthur, all of Butte; Mrs. Harold (Jessie) Olson, Butte; Mrs. Josephine Snider, Great Falls; Mrs. Lester (Rose) Rattey, Harlem; Mrs. John (Irene) Bachmeier, Box Elder; Mrs. Marjorie Fald, Seattle; 33 grandchildren

and 87 great grandchildren.
