Pearl A. Brekke
HARLEM -
Pearl A. Brekke, 83, died Sunday in a Havre hospital.
A funeral
service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Harlem Methodist Church, with burial in
Harlem
Cemetery.
She was born
in 1904 in Jackson, S.D., and moved with her parents to the Turner area in
1911. She attended rural schools, graduating from Harlem High School before
attending college in Dillon. She taught one year at Coburg.
In 1927 she
married Olaf Brekke in Havre.
He died in
l978.
She had
lived at the couple's home in Harlem for 55 years.
Survivors
include sons, Berwyn of Houston and Truman of Chinook; daughters, Helen
Thompson of Lakeside, and Phyllis Heilig and Marjorie Hickel of Turner; brothers, Melvin Jackson of Turner,
and Arnold Jackson of Kalispil; sisters, Carrie Brekke of Plains, Myrtle Nixon
of Harlem and Eleanor Felton of Chinook; a step-sister, Miriam Lind of Cut
Bank; a stepbrother, Charles Hewitt of
Wilsall; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by three brothers two sisters and a grandchild.
