ORVILLE CHARLES MCCARTNEY

  Orville Charles McCartney, 79, died July 4, after a short illness, at his residence in

Delta, Colo.

   He was born May 11, 1913 at Bancroff, Idaho, the son of Tom and Susie McCartney.

   He received his schooling at Chip. School.

   He married Meda E. Buck in Lewistown on Dec 27, 1932

   Charlie was a rancher, deputy sheriff, stock inspector, and worked at the U.S. Gypsum

plant.

   He enjoyed his family, all animals, especially horses and dogs, rodeos, team roping,

and playing cards.

   He drove a surrey and gave tours the summer of '91 in Leadville, Colo.

   Survivors include his two daughters and sons in law, Marimavis M. "Boots" Merry and

Kenneth, Circle, and Pat and Terry Montgomery, Delta, Colo, one son and daughter in law, Charles Jr

and Anita McCartney, Hamilton; one brother, Glenn McCartney, three half brothers,

Kenneth, Oran, and Macks from Portland; 11 grandchildren and six great-

grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held at the Creel-Morrison-Retz Chapel on Friday, July 10 at

10 a.m. with Pastor Ron McConkey officiating.

   Cremation will take place and asked are to be buried at a later date.

   Memorials to the Montana Hope Project or hte donor's choice are preferred by the

family and may be left at the funeral home.
