OBITUARY

MATTHEW GREBE

Matthew Grebe, mention of whose death was made last week, was born in Kres Hasfield, Germany, June 3rd, 1835, and came to America when he was 20 years old, settling in Grey County, Ontario, Canada, where he lived for 45 years, coming to the United States in 1889, settling in Pierce county where he has lived ever since. On February 9th, 1863 he married to Anna Barbara Gishler, and to them were born nine children, seven of whom are living. Rhere are forty grandchildren, 31 of whom are living, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. His faithful wife passed away at their home here on Dec. 13, 1917. Mr, Grebe untited with the Methodist church of this city in 1913, and has been a faithful and devout member of that church ever since. He was a good man and a good citizen.
