MARY C. SCHEND
A long-time resident of Hill County, Mrs. Mary C. Schend, 91, died March
14
in a local hospital.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Holland and Bonine Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be at 12 noon Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church
with
interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Schend was born in Breda, Iowa, Oct. 4, 1889. She was the daughter
of
W.F. and Annie Lammerding.
She was raised in Iowa and Minnesota. She was married to Nick Schend at
Tintah, Minn. Feb 16 1909.
They came to the Fresno area in 1912. In 1923 they moved to Havre.
Mr. Schend died in 1962.
Survivors are a son, Bernard, Seattle; daughters, Eliene Gridley, Havre;
brothers, J.J. Lammerding, Havre and
F.E. Lammerding, Kalispell; a nephew,
Kenneth Ausk, Columbia Falls, two
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A son, Henry, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Schend was a member of St. Jude's Alter Society and Catholic
Daughters
of America.
Memorials may be sent to the organ fund of St. Jude's Church or to one's
own
choice.

Mary C. Schend, 91, died March 14 in a local hospital. Mrs. schend was

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Mary Schend was conducted at noon Tuesday in St.
Jude's
Catholic church with the Rev.
Michael McHugh, S.J. officiating.
Internment was in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Domire, Vernon Sohm, George Turbak, Joe Schend, Jim
Faber and Howard McKay.
Russell Blom and leo Phillips were ushers.
Francie Miller sang, "Amazing grace," "How Great Thou
Art," "Ave Marie" and
"Lord Let Me Walk."
William Lisenby was accompnist.
Memorials may be given to the church organ fund or one's own choice.
