HAVRE - Magdalena (D'Hooge) Everaert, 90, a lifelong homemaker, died of
natural causes Tuesday at a Great Falls hospital.
Funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre, with
burial in Highland cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
She was born July 5, 1907, in Melsele, Belgium, one of 16 children. In
1920 she came to the United States and settled in Chicago. She married Julius
A. Everaert there in 1929.
They moved to Harlem in 1941, then lived in Chinook before moving to
Havre in 1942. They lived there until her husbands death in 1987, when she
moved to Great Falls to be near her daughter.
She enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include two children, Marie M. Betts of Great Falls and
Maurice G. Evereart of Casper, Wyo.; two sisters, Augusta Jensen and Dorothy
Whaley of Havre; a brother, Louie D'Hooge of Havre; 10 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.

Magdalena Everaert, 90, resident
of Great Falls for the past 10 years and former resident of Havre, died after a
brief illness on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, in a Great Falls hospital.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Jude
Catholic Church with Father Patrick R. Zabrocki officiating.Burial will follow
the Mass at the Highland cemetery.
Everaert was born July 5, 1907, in Melsele, Belgium, to Eduardus and
Marie Amelia (Heirbaut) D'Hooge. She was one of 16 children.
She came to the United States in 1920, settling in Chicago.
She married Julius A. Everaert on Sept. 7, 1929, in hicago. The couple
moved to Harlem in 1941, then to Chinook, and finally to Havre in 1942. They
resided in Havre until 1987. She moved to Great Falls after her husbands death
to be near her daughter.
She worked as a homemaker, raised three children and loved to knit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Julius; one son,
George F. Everaert in 1991; six brothers and sis sisters.
She is survived byi two children, Maurice G. Evereart of Casper,
Wyo., and Marie M. Betts of Great Falls; two sisters, Augusta Jensen and
Dorothea Whaley of Havre; a brother, Louie D'Hooge of Havre; 10 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.
Holland & Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
