Lyla
Gill funeral held at Turner
Lyla Dorothy Hutton Gill, 56, died August 1
at her home in Milton-Freewater, Ore., following a short illness.
She was born in Bracken, Sas., Canada and
lived and attended schools in Turner. In 1949 she married Adrian Gill in
Whitefish. They lived in Columbia Falls before moving to Milton-Freewater in
1966.
She is survived by her husband; a son,
Thomas, at home; a daughter, Shirley Jo McPherrin, Portland; her mother, Muriel
Martin, Turner; brothers, Graham and Glenn Hutton and Pat Doyle of Turner, Joe
Hutton of Loring, Gerald Hutton of Chinook and George Doyle in Washington; and
a sister, Kathleen Miller in Washington.
Funeral services for Lyla Gill were held at
2 p.m. August 5 at the American Lutheran Church at Turner with Pastor Otis
Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Turner Cemetery with Edwards Funeral
Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Leo Petrie, Walt Fouts,
Pete Watkins, Robert Roudebush, Thaine Warren and Dean Van Voast. Ushers
included Gene Sanguin and Leon Cederberg. Organist was
Darlene
Erickson with Palmer Anderson soloist.
