OBITUARY: Mrs. Lillie Alberta Giles
of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, Dec 21, 1978 at the Bon-AAir
Nursing
Home, Cannington. Daughter of the late
William Wooldridge and Hannah Oliver, she was born in Mariposa Township and
received her education in that area. On Jan 15, 1913, she married Russel Eli
Giles of Oakwood.
In
1926 the family took up residence in Lindsay and resided there until moving to
Toronto in 1946. In 1962 they returned to Oakwood.
She
is survived by two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Chester Pogue) of Peterborough,
Bernice (Mrs. Fred Mason) of Oshawa. Five grandchildren, Susan Mason Colleran
of Toronto, Jane mason Rowe of London, Nancy Mason Iantomasi of Oshawa, and
Darcy Mason of Oshawa. and one great grandson, Jason Rowe. Two sisters, Lottie
(Mrs. John Wylie) and Minnie (Mrs. Chaarles Walters) and two brothers Ernest
and Francis are predeceased.
Members
of the Karwatha Rebekah Lodge No. 75 conducted a service at the Funeral Home on
Friday evening, Dec. 22.
The funeral was held on Dec. 23 at 2:00 p.m. from the Stoddart Funeral Home, Lindsay. Rev. R. Taylor of Oakwood conducted the service, with internment at East Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Mason, Bryan Colleran, Dr. Charles Rowe, Lloyd Wylie, James Leishman, Murray Teel and Victor Jewell
