LEE FLEURY  

Lee M. Fluery ~ passed away at his home in Kittitas, WA   on Friday, April 9, 2004, surrounded by his family. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Affordable Funeral  Care, and honoring Lee’s wishes, a memorial observance will be held for the family, but no public services are planned.

   Lee was born in Hays on De­cember 17, 1928. to Roger and Angela (Larocque) Fleury. He was one of three sons in the fain-fly. He worked on ranches and in oil refineries before moving to Washington in the l970s.

   For many years he was em­ployed by the Erickson family and worked on the Lazy E Ranch. He later worked for Jerry’s For­eign Auto Repair until retire­ment. For 20 years he served in the Volunteer Fire Department and received a plaque of achievement for his years of faithful service.

   He was a husband, father and a hero, the last of the old cow­boys described as a “good ol boy.” His family said, “Enjoy the last roundup. Dad, we’ll miss you.

   He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann Fleury; a son. Terry; two daughters, Darlene Newkirk and Janet Wilson (all of the Kittitas and Ellensburg. WA areas); nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by two sons, Matthew and Darrel; a daughter, Betty Ann; his parents; and two brothers, Buddy and Jay.
