MIAMI HELMET Thursday, August 18, 1898
================================================================================
In Memory of Mrs. Lavinia Cron
At her late home on East Second St., occurred the death of Mrs.
"Lavinia
Cron, on Monday morning, August 8,
1898, at half past eight o'clock, after an
illness of about two weeks.
The deceased was 70 years old last October. She left two sons and a
daughter,
eight grandchildren and a large
circle of friends to mourn her loss.
The
funeral services were held on
Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
We miss thy kind and willind hand,
Thy fond and earnest care,
The home is dark without her,
They miss her everywhere.
Peaceful be your silent slumbers,
Peaceful be your grave so low,
You no more will join our numbers,
You no more our sorrows know.
Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled,
And in Heaven with joy to greet
thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed.
Farewell dear friend, but not
forever,
There will be a glorious dawn,
We shall meet to part no never,
On the resurrection morn.
Tho' her aged form lies sleeping,
In the cold and silent tomb,
She shall have a plorious waking,
When the blessed Lord doth come.
