MALTA - Kevin Lane Salsbery, 53, a farmer, rancher and pilot, died of cancer
Friday at his home east of Malta.
A wake service begins at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Malta.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial of the ashes in Malta Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home and
Crematory of Malta
is in charge of arrangements.
Kevin is survived by his wife,
Dianne; three sons, Dennis (Karen) and Ryan (Janessa),
both of Malta, and Nathan of Missoula; a daughter, Danette
(Jeff) Ross of Livingston; a sister, Beth (Bud) Slade of Malta; three
brothers, Layton (Karla) of Forsyth, Laurin (Cathy)
and Ross (Nancy) both of Malta; and nine grandchildren.
Kevin was born May 2, 1953, in
Malta, to James R. and Dorothy (Slaymaker) Salsbery. He attended Strater Country
School east of Malta and graduated from Malta High School
in 1971. He attended the University
of Montana at Missoula for a year and a half, before
returning to the family ranch, due to his father's failing health, to help
with operations. He obtained his pilot's license for fixed wing and
helicopters and flew for the Fish and Game and Forest
Service. He continued to ranch with his brothers east of Malta.
He married Dianne Goodheart on March 4, 1978, in Malta.
He was active in the Malta Athletic Club and was a former member of
the Malta School
Board and Malta
Irrigation Board, as well as the Lt. Governor's Board of Control of St. Mary
Rehabilitation Working Group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying and
spending time with family and friends and his grand-children. Condolences may
