Keith Ivan Turck
HAVRE -- Keith Ivan Turck, 63, a lifelong teacher and school counselor,
died of a heart condition Monday at his home.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Thursday at Van Orsdel United
Methodist Church, followed by a fellowship at the church. Private family burial
will take place at a later date. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in
charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Ann (Ryder) Turck of Havre; sons
Geoffrey Turck and Jason Turck of Seattle and Bradley Turck of Devils Lake, N.D.;
and two grandchildren.
His grandchildren are Shelby and Spencer Turck of Devils Lake. He is
also survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Turck of Devils Lake.
Keith was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Havre, to Paul A. and Lucille M. (Smith)
Turck. His father was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the family
lived in Fort Belknap, Browning, Poplar and Crow Agency, all in Montana; and
also in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Keith graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1956, from Montana State
College at Bozeman in 1960, and from Eastern Montana College at Billings around
1966.
He married Dee Ann Ryder on Aug. 13, 1961, in Billings. To this union,
three children were born. They taught in Bridger in 1961-62, and he was a Havre
Public Schools counselor from 1962 until his retirement in 1995.
He was an active member of the Havre Lions Club and was the club
secretary at the time of his death. His hobbies included golf, motorcycles and
computers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Turck, in 1982; his
mother, Lucille M. (Smith) Turck Tyler, in 1999; and a twin brother at birth.
Memorials in Keith's honor may be made to the Havre Lions Club, P.O. Box
248, Havre, MT 59501; the Havre High School Athletics Department, P.O. Box

Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his Havre residence of a presumed heart condition.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Van
Orsdel United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Parr officiating. Fellowship is
to follow memorial service at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. Private family
interment will be held at a later date.
Keith was born Oct. 8, 1938, to Paul A. and Lucille M. (Smith) Turck at
Havre. Keith’s father was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The family
lived in Fort Belknap, Browning, Poplar and Crow Agency, all of which are
located in Montana, and in Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from Blackfoot High
School in 1956, from Montana State College in Bozeman in 1960, and from Eastern
Montana College in Billings around 1966.
On Aug. 13, 1961, he married Dee Ann Ryder in Billings. To this union,
three children were born. They taught in Bridger in 1961 and 1962. He was a
Havre Public Schools counselor from 1962 until his retirement in 1995. He was
an active member of the Havre Lions Club and was secretary if the Havre Lions
Club at the time of his death. His hobbies included golf, motorcycles and
computers.

Survivors include his wife, Dee Ann Ryder Turck of Havre; sons, Geoffrey

Turck of Freemont, Wash.; two grandchildren.
