STATE DEATHS

BIG SANDY-

WALTERS, Joseph H., 80, a former telegrapher, died Friday at a Big Sandy hospital after a long illness. His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Roher United Methodist Church, Big Sandy, with burial at the Big Sandy cemetery. Born at Buffalo Center, Iowa, he came to Montana in 1913 with his parents, who homesteaded east of Big Sandy. He attended schools in Big Sandy and at Hill Military Academy in Portland. The World War II Navy veteran was a Great Northern Railroad telegrapher, then an Interstate Commerce Commission agent in Chicago from 1959-1970. He married Florence Brockelsby in 1946 in Great Falls. He returned to Big Sandy in 1971. Survivor: his wife. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
