Jay Pasma passes away at Fort Harrison

  Jay Pasma, long-time Hill County resident passed away Tuesday at the VA

Hospital in Fort Harrison. Mr Pasma suffered from cancer. He was born September

30, 1890 at Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Peter J. and Cora C. Pasma and was the

eldest of 7 children. He came to Montana in 1910, and homesteaded in the Bear

Paws south of Chinook. He enlisted in the Army in 1918 and served in France

during WWI.

  He married Elsi Pennington at Chester, September 27, 1922, from that time

until his death lived in the Fresno area west of Havre.

  Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters, Mrs Archie (Goldie) Maze,

Mrs Ben (Doris) Mueller and one son, Jamnes, all of Havre. Also 3 brothers,

Burt of O|regon, Lester of Havre and John of Chinook, one sister Mrs Cecilia

Murphy of Bakersfield, Calif., 9 gradchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

  Mr Pasma was a member of the VFW and the Assiniboine Barracks.

  Funeral services were held at the Holland - Bonine Funeral Home July 3, with

military rites conducted by the VFW and Montat Army National Guard.

  A memorial has been established for Yellowstone Boys Ranch.
