James L. Gilmore
CHINOOK -- Navy veteran James L. Gilmore, 38, of Chinook, a truck
driver, died Friday at Benefis East in Great Falls of cancer.
His vigil service is 7 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
His funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in Kuper
Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Meredith and Madeline (Lariviere) Gilmore
of Chinook; sisters Michaela Getschman of Missoula, Meredy Phares of Chinook
and Marlane Wenzel of Verdale, Minn.; and a brother, Terry Gilmore of Chinook

JAMES GILMORE
CHINOOK - James L. Gilmore, 38, of Chinook died Friday, Jan. 3, 2002, at
a Great Falls hospital due to complications from surgery and cancer.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Edwards
Funeral Home Chapel with burial with military honors in Kuper Memorial
Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home
chapel.
Jim was born on Jan. 9, 1964, in Havre to Meredith and Madeleine
(Lariviere) Gilmore. He was raised in Chinook and attended school in Chinook
and in Bigfork.
Jim served six years in the U.S. Navy before purchasing his own tractor
semitrailer rig and trucking all over the United States. He was most recently
leased to Palmer Trucking of Missoula before he became ill in September. In
November, he had surgery at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City for cancer and
entered Benefis East in Great Falls on Dec. 26 due to complications from his
illness.
James is survived by his parents, Meredith and Madeleine Gilmore, both
of Chinook; sisters, Michaela Getschman of Missoula, Meredy Phares of Chinook
and Marlane Wenzel of Verndale, Minn.; brother, Terry Gilmore of Chinook; and
numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
