Jack Sommars, 71, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

Jack was born on Dec. 4, 1930, in Wolf Point, to Ralph and Vesta Quitmeyer Sommars.

He lived in Wolf Point and California before moving to Havre, where he farmed for 20 years. He moved to Kalispell in 1979, where he lived until his death.

Jack served in the U.S. Army from March of 1951 until March of 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Frances, of Kalispell; his daughter, Toby and her husband, Vince Allan, and grandchildren, Laura, Andy and Jessica, all of Columbia Falls; and one brother, Gary Sommars of Ault, Colo.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. William Baumgarten officiating.
