John Nelson

  CHINOOK - John "Jack" Nelson, 92, a former deputy and hospital employee, died of natural causes Saturday at a local nursing home.

  A memorial service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the American Lutheran Church.

Edwards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to

the church.

  He was born May 19, 1904, in Rugby, N.D., where he was raised and educated.

After attending the Hanson Auto School in Jamestown, he moved here in 1935 and went to work at the U&I Sugar Factory.

  In 1940 he married Myrtle Skoyen in Havre.

  Nelson later worked as a deputy for the sheriff's office and as a maintenance employee for the Sacred Heart Hospital, retiring in 1969.

  Surviving include his wife of Chinook.

  CHINOOK - John "Jack" Nelson, 92, died June 1, 1996, at Sweet Nursing Home in Chinook due to natural causes.

  Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the American

Lutheran Church in Chinook.

  Nelson was born to Knute and Margit (Ingabretson) Nelson on May 19, 1904, in Rugby, N.D. He attended school there and after graduation attended the Hanson Auto School in Jamestown, N.D.

  He came to Chinook in 1935 to work at the U & I Sugar Factort. He also worked for H. Earl Clack Station and Dave's Texaco Station.

  He was also employed by the Blaine County Sheriff's office as a deputy for a number of years and retired form working in 1969 from the Sacred Heart Hospital in the maintenance.

  He married Myrtle Skoyen on Sept. 26, 1940, in Havre.

  He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Nelson of Chinook, and numerous nieces and nephews.
