H. Scamahorn
Howard E. Scamahorn, 76, of 127 Staunton St.,
Piqua, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1992, at 12:17 p.m. in Piqua Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 23,
1916, in Piqua, the son of
the late Clarence and Almeda L. Baker Scamahorn.
He married Margaret C. Clayton, Piqua, Nov. 1, 1951. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Richard Scamahorn
of Piqua and two
grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Scamahorn was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion
Post 184 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4874, both of Piqua.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran, having served during World War II, where he was decorated with honors
including the Purple Heart.
He retired as a tax examiner in 1979 from the state of Ohio.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the
Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Rev.
John McRoberts officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the
funeral home. The VFW will conduct a
service in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church or the ambulance
fund.
