Hazel Pearl Damschen, 77

        Hazel Pearl Damschen, 77, longtime resident of Whitefish, died of

natural causes on Friday, March 26, 1999, at North Valley Extended

Care in Whitefish. She was born on Nov. 9, 1921 to Reeves and

Gladys "Nellie" Helen Howkins Taylor, in Whitefish. She loved

everything about the outdoor life. She was also a big-hearted person

who would give to and help anyone. She was preceded in death by a

sister, Alice Wachsmuth; two brothers, Les and William Taylor. She is

survived by two sons, Ben and wife, Mary Jane, and Bill Foss and

wife, Ruby; one daughter, Judy; one sister, Gladys Rochon of

Whitefish; four brothers, Lee Taylor and Howard Taylor, both of

Kalispell, Robert Taylor and Ceo Landon, both of Seattle; 10

grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren A graveside service will be

Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Whitefish Cemetery with Dr. Caughlan

officiating. At her request there will be no visitation. Arrangements are

by the Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
