HAROLD W. GORMAN
CHINOOK - Harold W. Gorman, 71, of Chinook, a retired Montana Power Co.
employee, died Thursday at his home of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was at 10 am. Monday in the Chinook High School
gymnasium.
Edwards Funeral home is handling arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Chinook high girls and boys basketball
teams.
He was born in Chinook July 5, 1923, and grew up in this area. After
graduating from Chinook High School he served in the U.S. Navy during World War
II. Following his discharge he went to work for Montana Power as a field
operator, a position he held for 32 years until retiring.
In 1943, he married Athelia “Dilly” Zinn; they later divorced.
In 1963, he married Irene Winters; she died in 1988.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling and basketball.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Omlie of Havre; two sons, Wes Gorman
of Bigfork and Jim
Gorman of Scobey; five stepchildren,
Judy Mae Wiench of Corvallis, Linda Hindman of Chinook, Vickie Brown of Naches,
Wash., and Sharon Staples and Floyd Duncan, both of Havre; five sisters, Loretta
Coyner of Toppenish, Wash., Pauline Leo and Deane Zarn of Chinook, Joan Lamey
of hlavre and Ruth Gallop of Cut Bank; three brothers, Doneld Gorman of
Douglas, Wyo., John Gorman of Chinook and Jim Gorman of Cut Bank; 10 grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary.
