George F. Everaert
COLUMBIA FALLS - George F. Everaert, 60, died Friday
morning at his home near Columbia Falls.
He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Chicago, Ill.,
to Julius and Magdalene Everaert. He was raised and educated in Havre,
where he graduated from high school. He served in the Navy for four years on
submarines.
He attended Northern Montana College in Havre after
his discharge and later attended Ball State College in Indiana. He was recalled
into the service and was discharged as a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps
where he was a photo recon pilot.
Following his discharge, he returned to Havre where
he owned and operated an Exxon station for 20 years.
He moved to Columbia Falls in 1980. He loved the
outdoors, camping and fishing. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Havre.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Pedersen of
Kila and Amy Everaert of Great Falls; a son, Edward Everaert of Billings; his
mother, Magdalene D'Hooge Everaert of Great Falls; a sister,
Marie Betts of Great Falls; a brother, Maurice Everaert of Casper, Wyo.; two
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held; Monday at Van Leuven
Funer~ Home in Columbia Falls.
