Ethel Inman Humphreys
Ethel Inman Humphreys, wife of Reese
W. Humphreys, died Jan. 15, 1999, at St. John's Lutheran Home, where she had
been a resident for several years. She was 89.
She is survived by her husband of 25
years, also a resident of St. John's; children from her first marriage to Fred
L. Inman (deceased) include two sons, C. Robert Inman and Fred Lee Inman; two
daughters, Helen Graham and Mary Bartlett; a brother, Warren G. Smyth; a
sister, Ruth Sabins; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; as well
as stepsons, R. William Humphreys of Langley, Wash., Richard Humphreys of
Spokane, Wash., and Thomas Humphreys of River Falls, Wis.
Ethel graduated in 1926 from Malta
High School. She took her RN training at Kennedy Deaconess Hospital in Havre.
Mrs. Humphreys retired from Billings Deaconess Hospital in 1970, where she was
Director of Nursing Service for many years. In 1973, she married Reese
Humphreys. They moved to St. Paul, Minn., until Mr. Humphreys retired from his
position with the railroad. They returned to make their home in Billings.
Ethel enjoyed traveling, and in
addition, sewing, quilting, knitting, and other handicrafts. She was associated
with many service organizations during her working years and after her
retirement which included Pink Ladies and the Red Cross. She was also an active
member of Grace United Methodist Church in Billings.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 22, at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Treglown
officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests donations be made to either Grace United Methodist Church
or St. John's Lutheran Rome.
