  Elizabeth Z. Lavenger, 80, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, due to natural  causes on Sept. 11, 1999. She has been a

resident of Billings for the past 12 years.

  Funeral mass will be Thursday, Sept 16, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

   Vigil services will be Wednesday at 7pm in St Gabriel's Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.

   Mrs. Lavenger was born on June 18, 1919, in Malta (MT), to Marcel and Zilda (Desmarais) Jeannotte. She married James Lavenger on

April 7, 1934 in Zortman. They resided in Zortman, Landusky and the Little Rockies. They moved to Chinook and resided there for a number of years.

   Elizabeth worked for Blaine Co. Services for 16 years.

   Mrs. Lavenger is survived by her 14 children: six sons: Edward, Bill, Gary, and Bob, all of Billings: Mike Lavenger of Helena, and Jack Lavenger of Lolo: eight daughters: Edie Hebig, Gloria Williams, Elaine Morin, Betty and Karen Lavenger, all of Billings: Phyllis Trothie of Spokane, Wa: Ruby Chavez of  Williamsboro, NJ; and Cheryl Lavenger of Everett, Wa.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren,

nieces, nephews and sisters; Mary Jane Larocque of Malta, Agnes Akerman of Lewiston, Idaho, Christine Clary of Redding, Ca., Tiny Doney of Spokane, and brother, Joe Azure of Big Sandy.

   She was preceded in death by sisters, Celina and Louise Azure, brothers; Joe Brien, Edward and Walter Azure, and her husband James in 1983.
