Dale Gummer, 50

 

    Dale Gummer died Sunday , Oct. 22, 2000, doing one of the things he loved to do; hunting.

    He was born Feb. 11, 1950 in Butte to Teed and Beverly (May) Gummer. He attended Emerson Elementary and East Junior High and graduated from Butte High School. He played baseball, softball, basketball, football and speed skated.

    He started hunting with his dad and brothers at a early age, and has been a avid hunter for the past 30 years.

    His father worked at HiLo Marina where Dale found his love for motorcycles. He was known for his snowbikes and enjoyed working on his own and friends Harleys. For 21 consecutive years Dale enjoyed riding his Harley to Sturgis Rally with his wife and friends.

    He is survived by his wife, Janice Gummer, Butte; daughter and son-in-law, Danetta and Dave Briggs, and their children, Caiclin, Nicole and Mathew, Elyria, Ohio and Deanna and Mike Johnson and their son and daughter-in-law , Bob and Bobbie McGarry and their daughters Arianna and Brianna, Spokane, Wash.; mother, Beverly Gummer, Butte; sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Mike Beyl, Miles City; brothers and sister-in-law, Jay and Paula Sue Gummer and their children, Josh, Aaron, Anthony and Nicole, Butte, and Larry Gummer and his children, Dale Charles and Nikki, Butte; aunt and uncle, Carol and Charlie Smith and their children, Carli, Chelsi and Carlin, Butte; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack and Mickie Harvey, Polson; grandmother, Anna May, Butte; aunt and uncle, Helen and Todd Gummer, Spokane; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gayle and Bruce Beriagliu, Missoula, John and Colleen Harvey, Denver, very special friend, Dano; many, many other friends.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Teed Gummer; grandfather, Nathan May.

    Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are asked to join family for memorial services Thursday at 1 p.m. in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 2300 Florence Ave. A reception will follow at Dano’s Bar.
