CORA IDA BRANDT

  CHESTER - Former Rudyard Grand Hotelnowner, Cora Ida Brandt, 75, died of natural causes Friday at a local nursing home.

  Her funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with graveside services at 1:30 p.m. in Rudyard Cemetery. A luncheon follows the funeral service in the church's fellowship hall. Rockman Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

  She was born Sept 19, 1924, in Richardson, N.D. Her family moved to Montana

in 1930. She attended schools in Inverness and Rudyard, graduating from Rudyard High Schook in 1943.

  She and her mother owned and operated the Grand Hotel in Rudyard from 1944-1950. She also worked during that time as a clerk for Sanvik Brothers. She moved to Havre in 1950, working for Buttrey Food. After living in Havre 10 years, she moved with her mother and a brother to Van Nuys, Calif. She worked there for 15 years as an office manager for W.T. Grand Company. She worked for Target Corp. as a sales auditor until retiring in 1988, when she moved to Grass Valley, Calif.

  She moved to Sweetgrass Lodge in Chester in 1996, living there until November 1998, when she moved to Liberty County Nursing Home.

  She belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

  She enjoyed playing cards and family gatherings.

  Survivors include three brothers, Edwin Brandt of Seattle, Elmer Brant of Central Point, Ore. and Eugene Brandt of Chester; three sisters, Eunice Robertson of Pacifica, Calif., Lauretta "Sally" Wodarz of Chester and Lydia Hansen of Rudyard.

  Funeral services were held this morning at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chester. Graveside services were held at the Rudyard Cemetery.

  Brandt was born Sept 19, 1924, in Richardson, N.D. to Louis and Laura (Krueger) Brandt. The family moved to Montana in 1930. She attended schools in Inverness and Rudyard graduating from Rudyard High Schook in 1943.

  She and her mother owned and operated the Grand Hotel in Rudyard from 1944-1950. She worked as a clerk for Sanvik Brothers. She moved to Havre in 1950 where she was employed at Buttrey Food. She moved California with her brother and mother 10 years later where she was employed as an office manager for W.T. Grand Company for 15 years. She later was employed at Target Corporation as a sales auditor until her retirement in 1988 She moved to Grass Valley, Calif. until moveing to Sweetgrass Lodge in Chester in 1996.

  She was baptized and confermed Lutheran in Rudyardand transfered to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chester. She reading her Bible and completeing private Bible studies. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and demon.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold and George Brandt and a sister, Ruth Nelson.

  Survivors include brothers, Edwin Brandt of Seattle, Wash.,  Elmer Brant of Central Point, Ore. and Eugene Brandt of Chester; sisters, Eunice Robertson of Pacifica, Calif., Lauretta "Sally" Wodarz of Chester and Lydia Hansen of Rudyard; and numerous nephews and nieces.

  Memorials may be made to the donors choice.

  Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester is in charge of arrangements.
