Clyde Gary Lankford

 

   Clyde Gary Lankford, 65, of 321 2nd Ave. S.W., a retired diesel mechanic, died Wednesday at his home of cancer.

   Services are 2:30 Saturday at O'Connor Funeral Home, with burial of ashes in Highland Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.

   Surviving are his wife Pat Lankford; daughters Marcia Fowler and Sherry Lankford, both of Great Falls; sons Art Lawrence, Gary Lankford, Don Lankford, Scott Lankford and Jesse Lankford, all of Great Falls; sisters Barbara Lankford Berger of Butte, Ava

Welch of Havre, Billie Rose Matthews of Malta and Nancy Tremblay of Malta; brothers Tom Lankford of Ronan and Jerry Lankford of Dotson; 16 grandchildren and six grandchildren.

   An infant son, Michael Lankford, preceded him in death.

   Additional survivors include daughters-in-law Shirley, Sandy and Barb; and a son-in-law, Earl Fowler.

   Clyde was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Chinook, and attended various schools in the Chinook area. He served with the Army's Company B, 3rd Engineer Battalion, 24th Division in Korea.

   He married Patricia Shortman in 1956 at Havre.

   Clyde completed an apprenticeship at Jamieson Motors in Chinook and attended diesel automotive school in Denver. He retired from Great Falls Transit as shop manager.

   Clyde was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to take his children and grandchildren along with him. He enjoyed tying flies, cribbage and playing cards.

   His parents, Irene LaTray Bachmeier and Clyde Richard Lankford also preceded him

in death.
