CHARLES J. 'Chuck' HOLDEN

Koren War navy veteran and former Hogeland resident Charles J. "Chuck" Holden, 71, of Stockton, Calif., who worked for General Motors, died Wednesday at his home of a heart attack.

Visitation is 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose, Calif., followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. His funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose.

Survivors include a daughter, Rocinda "Cindy" Dragotto of Gilroy, Calif.; sons Charles Holden, Mark Holden and Christopher Holden of San Francisco; a sister, Mary (Holden) Bubnash of Great Falls; brothers James Holden of Great Fals, Paul Holden of Santa Clara, Calif., and Thomas "Skip" Holden of Stockton, Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are numerous relations around the Great Falls, Hi-Line and San Francisco Bay areas.

He was born in Havre (Montana) Nov. 21, 1930, and raised and educated in Hogeland, graduating from Hogeland High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1948, and served four years and seven months, including a year in China during the Korean War.

He married Beryl "Bunny" Winn on Feb. 9, 1952, in San Francisco. They later divorced.

His parents, Raymond "Happy" Holden and Cecilia (Cichosz) Holden, and brother John "Skeets" Holden and David Holden , all of who lived in Hogeland prior to moving to California, preceded him in death.
