CHARLES WM. CRON, RETIRED GROCER
DIES UNEXPECTEDLY
Charles William Cron, 63, retired prominent
grocer, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 3 o’clock this morning at his
home,
He retired from active business three years ago when his son Charles M. Cron, took over the grocery which his father had operated
for 30 years, the Cron Grocery on Nicklin
avenue being one of the well-known independent retail food establishments
here. Failing health was the reason for
the elder Cron’s retirement.
The son of William R. and Caroline Lobenstein Cron, he was born
Surviving are his wife, Anna; a son, Charles M. Cron
and a grand-daughter, Lois Ann Cron, all of Piqua;
three sisters, Mrs. Bert Compton (Hattie) of Dayton; Mrs. Bert Inman (Pansy) of
Haver, Montana, and Mrs. Samuel Burns (Mollie) of
Piqua. Two brothers and three sisters
preceded him in death.
The Rev. Paul J. Gehm will be in charge of
funeral rites at
