   Carl H. Parks, 68, died peacefully at his home in Buffalo City, Wisconsin on March 13, 2003, following a long battle with cancer. A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 16, at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma, WI. Stohr-Hagen-Wozney Funeral Home of Alma, WI was in charge of arrangements.

   Carl was born on September 16, 1934, in Harlem to Edward and Bertha (Lembke) Parks. On September 17, 1955 he married Rene Johnson at Columbia, Heights, MN. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of 224 of Alma, and a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Carl and Rene owned and op­erated Parks Hardware Store in Alma for 30 years. They also owned and operated Charter Travel Co. in Alma for nine years, retiring from both in 1998. They enjoyed traveling.

   Survivors include his wife, Rene Parks of Buffalo City; a daughter, Sonja (Gordon) Sand­quist of Morrison, CO; two Sons, Steve Parks of Houston, TX and Eric Parks of Waupun, WI; four grandchildren; three brothers, Garold Parks of Orchards, WA, Harvey Parks and Jay Parks both of Eureka, MT; plus several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
