Howard G. Buck Garrahan, 82, of Havre died
Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brad Ulgenes officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the
Buck was born Oct. 24, 1923, in
Buck married Alyce Krejci on Nov. 26, 1941, in Sheridan,
Buck served in World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in November of 1945. Buck returned to Havre and worked at the Havre Greenhouse. In 1967, he and Alyce purchased the business and changed the name to Garrahans Greenhouse. Together they operated the business until retiring in 1984. Buck enjoyed hunting, fishing and fossil collecting, his coffee at the 4-Bs and visiting with people. Buck always had a smile and a good story to share.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Margaret.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alyce Garrahan of Havre; daughters, Patty (Terry) Boucher of Havre and Dr. Sharon Walen (Dr. Brett Crow) of Boise, Idaho; brother, Bill Garrahan of Havre; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Bucks honor may be made to V. F.W. Post No. 498 in Havre. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
