  HAVRE - Bernice V. Tonjum, 77, died Sunday at a Havre hospital of natural

causes.

  Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran

Church.

  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

  She was born March 6, 1913 in Dallas, Wis. to Odin and Hannah Kringle

Bronson. On Jan. 5, 1940, she married Ingvar Tonjum in Chicago. Following their

marriage the couple moved to a farm north of Havre. They retired in 1963.

  Mrs. Tonjum was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Lois Circle and the

Sons of Norway.

  She had spent many winters in Arizona up until 1987 when she decided to make

Havre her full-time home in order to be close to family and friends.

  Survivors included sons, Larry and Paul, both of Havre; sisters, Esther

Borlaug of Gilford and Selma White of Milwaukee, Wis; a brother, Martin Nelson

of East Helena; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

  She was preceded in death by her husband on July 1, 1983 and her parents.

  Memorials may me sent to the First Lutheran Church Elevator Fund.

  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
