Obituary- The grim reaper death has again visited our community and claimed for its victim a fond wife and loving mother, in the person of Mrs. William Denham, who was called home from this world of cares and duty to that realm whence no traveller ever returns. Deceased, who was 39 years of age, has always enjoyed good health up to Friday last when she was taken ill and despite all that medical attention and skillful nursing could do she gradually grew worse and on Tuesday evening she passed away. Mrs. Denham was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Batten of Zion and was well-known here, having many relatives and friends in this vicinity and at
Zion. She and her husband having resided here for a number of years, and also near Ilderton, from which place they moved to their present home near Granton, where she died. Besides her parents eight sisters and four brothers, she leaves her husband and five children., the youngest being only a few days old, when she died. The family have the sympathy of their many friends in their sad hour of sudden bereavement. The funeral took place on Friday at Zion cemetery, conducted by Rev. Wason, and was attended by a large number of sorrowing neighbors and friends.

'Tis hard to break the tender cord,
When love has bound the heart;
'Tis hard, so hard, to speak the word-
We must forever part.
Dearest kived one, we have laid thee
In the peaceful grave's embrace,
But thy memory will be cherished
Till we see thy heavenly face.
Do we forget? Oh, no,
For memory's golden chain
Has bound our hearts to the heart that's gone,
Till we meet to touch again.
