ANNABELLE SALFER

  HAVRE - Annabelle (Flatness) Salfer, 84, a retired grocery clerk, died of natural causes Tuesday at her home.

  Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to St. LaBrie Community College, Lame Deer Crow Agency, 59022.

  She was born June 20, 1913, in the Bear Paw Mountains south of Havre, attended school in Box Elder. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1933 and moved to Havre, where she worked for Mountain Bell.

  In 1934 she married William Schend, and they lived in Box Elder, Fresno ad Havre. They later divorced, and she married Clinton Salfer in 1967. They lived in Havre, where she was a clerk at Buttrey Foods until retiring.

  She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and St. Jude Catholic Catholic Church, and was a former member of the Eagles Drill Team.

  Her husband died in 1985.

  Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Serns of Loomis, Calif., and Kathryn Williams of Salt Lake City; a son, Terry Schend of Havre, two sisters, Helen Kallenberger and Margaret Golie of Havre; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grand-

children and two great-great-grandchildren.

  A son David M. Schend, has died.

  HAVRE - Annabelle Flatness Salfer, 84, a resident of Havre, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at her residence of natural causes. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre, with Father Patrick R. Zabrocki officiating. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery.

  Salfer was born June 20, 1913, in the Bear Paw Mountains south of Havre to Halvor K. and Louisa (Knutson) Flatness.In 1933 she graduated from Box Elder High School. She later moved to Havre and worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company.

  In Mar 1934 she married William Schend. The couple lived in Box Elder, Fresno and in 1946 moved to Havre. They later divorced.

  In 1967 she Clinton Salfer, and they lived in Havre after their marriage. She latter retired as a clerk at Buttrey's Food Store.

  She was a member of the Eagles Auxilary, a former member of the Eagles Drill Team, and a member of St. Jude Catholic Catholic Church.

  Salfer was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Clinton; one son, David M. Schend; and one brother, Conrad Flatness.
