BELCOURT PIONEER DIES
AT AGE OF EIGHTY-ONE.

Alexander Latreille died at his home in Belcourt early Friday morning after being sick in bed for
about to weeks. He had not been very well for the past year, but was able to get
around and to do his own work. At the time of his death, Mr
Latreille was 81 years old.
He was one of the pioneers in the Belcourt
community, having lived here over 50 years.
His former home was Walhalla, where he married Clemence
Legie Parisien, Febuary 18, 1872. To this union two children were born,
both of whom died several years ago.
They had also adopted four children, one of whom, Mrs
Ernest Jeanotte was living near him at Belcourt. He is survived by his widow, four adopted
children, three brothers and four sisters. None of the brothers or sisters live here.
Mr Latreille was an active member of the
Catholic church. For over 40 years he was a member of
the choir. Fr J E Ouellet officiated at the funeral
services, which were held at the
