ORVILLE STATELEN

   Orville Albert Statelen, 87, a retired massage therapist, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

   A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Rowlie Hutton officiating. A luncheon will follow the services. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Wing Cemetery.

   Albert was born May 6, 1915, in Savoy to Albert Henry and Lucille (Sheridan) Statelen.

   Albert married Ruth Mildred Hutton on Aug. 7, 1942, in

Chinook. This past August, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Albert farmed for years on the family home­stead west of Turner. In 1954 he began prac­ticing mas­sage thera­py, retiring in 1991 after 37 years of Statelen service. He enjoyed the rewards of helping people.

   Albert is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

   Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Havre; children, Calvin Statelen of Chinook, Alberta Booth of Malta, Carmen Hammond of Australia and Marlys Carpenter of Lewistown; sister, Winifred Larson; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

   Memorials may be made to Little Rockies Christian Camp or Fifth Avenue Christian Church, BOX 1328, Havre, MT 59501.

   Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
